Chapter 12

November has arrived, as well as did the cold weather.

Quidditch season has officially started and this Saturday, Harry will have his first match after he's traveled back in time: Gryffindor against Slytherin. If Gryffindor wins, they'll move up onto the second place in the Quidditch House Cup.

Even though almost nobody has seen Harry train, the information that he's a Seeker has leaked; probably someone overheard it.

People told him that they knew that he'll be awesome; but some people (Slytherins) started making fun of him, that they'll run beneath him with a mattress.

After the Halloween night when Harry and Ron went to save Hermione they became friends.

Harry is more then happy about it, he knows just how Hermione is important; without her, Harry and Ron could've died so many times.

********

At Saturday morning, the Great Hall was filled with awesome and tasty smell. When he was sitting at the Gryffindor table, he was a little nervous, because he hasn't played Quidditch in a long time, but he knew he could do it; plus the smell was making him hungry, so, unlike in his original life, he didn't need any convincing to eat, it's true that when it comes to playing Quidditch, you need energy.

It was eleven o'clock at Saturday and everyone in school is at the stands around the Quidditch pitch; a lot of them have binoculars.

Meanwhile, Harry is in the Changing Room with his teammates, as they were changing into the Gryffindor Quidditch robes.

Wood coughed, to gain their attention.

"Alright, men" Oliver started.

"And women," Angelina, Gryffindor's Chaser, added.

"And women" Wood corrected himself, "awaiting us is a match."

"Big match," Fred mimicked him.

"That we're all waiting for," George recited.

"We know all of Oliver's speeches word-for-word," Fred whispered to Harry, "we were in the team last year too."

"Hey, you two, quiet," Oliver told them, "This is the best team that Gryffindor had since a few years back. Today we'll win. I feel it"

He looked at them with a look saying, 'anyway, he's with us...'

"Alright. It's time. Good luck." Oliver said and walked out.

Everyone immediately started leaving too; Harry is right behind Fred and George; Harry hoped Quirrell won't try to jinx his broom in an attempt to make him fall off it.

With everyone in the audience loudly cheering, they walked onto the Pitch.

As always, madam Hooch was the referee; she stood in the middle of the pitch and with a broom in her hand, she waited for both of the teams.

"I ask, for all of the players to play fair," she spoke to them when they stood around her; she mostly adressed those words to the Slytherin team. Slytherin's are always rough and unfair when it comes to Quidditch.

In the corner of his eyes, Harry saw a transparent that said: 'Potter for president'. He hadn't really needed any encouragement but it's nice and makes it much easier to ignore the anxiety over the possibility of Quirrell wanting to try  to kill him during this match.

"Mount your brooms, please"

Harry sat onto his Nimbus 2000.

Madam Hooch then whistled on a silver whistle.

Fifteen brooms flew high into the skies, and thus the match begun.

Harry flew high. High enough to see the whole pitch (and thus make it easier for him to see the Golden Snitch), but not too high.

He barely heard Jordan's commentary, he had paid small attention to it, only caring about the score, becuase if he catches the Golden Snitch he needs the opposite team be winning maximum 140 points, but if his team is winning it doesn't really matter.

Suddenly Angelina scored a goal for Gryffindor. Harry couldn't help, but be really happy about Gryffindor earning ten points, but he still has to pay attention to his surroundings; in case he sees a Golden Snitch to catch ; or if he sees the Bludger to move out of its way.

For a while he thought he saw a glimpse of the Snitch but very quickly realized that it's just one of the twin's watch.

Suddenly, one of the Bludgers decided to go after him, he reflexively moved out of it's way and before it could change the direction and go after him again Fred immediately knocked it away.

"Everything alright, Harry?" Fred asked him, just as he shot the Bludger against Flint.

"Yea," Harry replied.

Fred then suddenly flew away, because another Bludger was going after Katie.

Suddenly Harry noticed the Golden Snitch and immediately flew for it. It was near the ground under him. He flew fast, and it seemed like that Slytherin's Seeker noticed it too, becuase he's right behind him.

But Harry was faster. Out of corner of his eye Harry noticed Flint and moved out of his way, making Flint only lightly brush against Harry, making Flint almost fall off the broom.

But just as the near-hard-bump-in-attempt-to-make-Harry-fall-of-his-broom, made both of the Seeker's lose the attention from the Snitch, and they lost the sight of it.

After the Snitch was gone, both of the Seekers gone back to the heights and now they're on the opposite sides, seeing as they are on different teams.

About two minutes have passed and the Golden Snitch was still nowhere in sight.

Suddenly, just a centimeter under his broom flew another Bludger, good he reacted, otherwise it would've hit his broom.

All of a sudden, he felt a twitch in his broom. Reactively, he started holding his broom with both of his hands.

Another twitch, this time harder. He begun to tighten his hold.

He tried to fly towards Oliver, to tell him that his broom is being jinxed, but the jinx is too powerful to let him properly control his broom.

So Quirrell really is trying to kill him this time too, hopefully, just like last time, Snape is countering it.

Harry tried his best to get to Oliver but Quirrell is doing a bloody good job with jinxing his broom.

With another twitch Harry got almost thrown off a broom in a forward direction.

To his luck, Fred noticed that Harry's broom seems to have its own mind.

"You alright, Harry?" Fred asked. Just as he flew closer to Harry, Harry's broom twitched away, but Harry stopped it from going too far.

"No-" Harry grunted, it's clear just how hard it is to not fall of the broom he's sitting on, "my broom is being jinxed-"

Suddenly, his broom twitched so hard that he almost fell off it completely, only holding on it with his leg.

He was very lucky that Fred decided to check on him, because said teammate immediately helped him get back on the broom.

"I think we should tell Wood and ask for a time-out..." Fred said, but looked at his broom with worry, clearly not wanting to risk Harry falling off his broom completely and risk that he'll die.

"Yea, you should go tell him-" Harry always automatically abruptly stops every time his broom twitches.

"But I don't want to just leave you here alone!" Fred said, trying to be as calm as possible, "you could fall to your death."

"Don't worry about me-," Harry reassured Fred, "just go tell Wood about this."

Fred was rapidly looking from Harry to Wood, his lips practically invisible due to how squeezed together they were.

"Okay, just don't you dare fall off the broom while no one is under you." Fred said firmly at last, and flew away.

It took only ten seconds for Fred to reach Wood.

Wood's face went from surprised and slightly 'if this is something unimportant I'll kill you!' look to pale; and then immediately shot a look towards Harry, who's broom just twitched the hardest it has this whole match and he flew forward so hard that he hadn't fallen only because of how tightly he's squeezing his legs on the broom.

At that, Wood began to act. Wood immediately flew towards madam Hooch who, to his luck, was just about to fly towards one of the hoops on the Gryffindor's side of pitch; she doesn't seem like she noticed anything wrong.

But, when she noticed Wood, who just flown towards her, she was also surprised, but tentative (seeing the look on Wood's face).

When Wood explained the situation and the fact that it seems like someone is jinxing Harry's broom she immediately whistled her whistle.

"TIMEOUT!" She yelled, "TIMEOUT!"

Both teams froze at the yell. Everyone who didn't get the memo yet looked around and immediately realized why there is a time-out.

Madam Hooch, Wood as well as the twins immediately flew towards Harry.

They were careful but quick, Wood and George held each one end of Harry's Nimbus 2000 and Fred took Harry onto his broom, while madam Hooch was there to take care of things if it went too south. Luckily, Harry got down to the ground safely. The broom stopped twitching when Quirrell realized that his chance to kill (or atleast terribly injure) Harry.

The match was over, but no one has won since neither of the Seekers caught the Golden Snitch, and thus the match was set to be played again two weeks later.

But first, they took Harry's broom to check if someone hasn't placed any lasting curse or jinx on it; Harry thinks this isn't a case, and he even tried to convince the teachers that it didn't seem like a curse that would last, but because he had to act like a kid, they didn't believe his assumptions, and said that they just want to check his broom for his own safety.

At that, Harry realized that Quirrell will also be at the 'safety-check' team, seeing as he's the Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher and only Harry knows he's actually a Death Eater and has a literal Voldemort on the back of his head...

Harry tried to calm himself by the knowledge that when checking his broom, all of the teachers in the 'safety-check' team, will be checking it together and Quirrell probably won't have a chance to curse and further jinx his broom...
