Chapter Nineteen - PART ONE FINALE

Immediately after Harry, Ron and Hermione got out of the room where Fluffy is they quickly ran out of the Forbidden Hallway.

When they were on a different floor they quickly realized that right now students and teachers are probably eating dinner in the Great Hall.

The trio looked at eachother.

"Are you hungry?" Ron asked, "because I sure am not..."

Harry and Hermione shook their heads.

"So... what should we do now?" Ron asked, just as unsure as his best friends are.

"Dunno... let's just head to the Common Room, I guess," Harry offered.

His best friends agreed, and began walking towards the Gryffindor Tower.

After a quiet walk to the Gryffindor Tower they stopped at the portait of the Fat Lady.

"What are you doing here you three?" She's confused, "has something happened?"

None of them answered and Harry just ended up telling her the password. The Fat Lady immediately understood that she won't get answers to her questions so she just let them in...

They sat down on the couch.

"Do... do you think we should...?" Hermione's gaining her voice back, the shock and fear finally wearing off.

"Tell someone?" Harry asked, asking if this is what she meant.

She nodded.

"I don't think so..." Harry said, but had to agree that this is important, "plus, I think people are gonna find out Quirrell died sometime soon anyway, either that, or they'll think he randomly disappeared."

His best friends are baffled by the fact that Harry can talk so casually about things like that.

"Have you really been through worse already?"

"Of course," he simply answered.

"But... but you seemed like you were in pain when you even touched Quirrell..." Hermione said, clearly worried.

"... I can't deny that it  hurt like hell... I'm a little surprised I didn't scream in pain..." Harry doesn't really like talking about things like this.

"..."

"Don't- don't tell me you've been hit with any of the Unforgivable curses before..." Ron said, terrified by just saying it.

"Unforgivable curses?" Hermione sounds like she's never heard about them.

"Technically, I've experienced all three of them." Harry said, not really in the mood to tell them about it.

His best friends seemed to understand the unspoken unwillingness, so they didn't push.

*************

Four days have passed since Quirrell has died.

Just two days left until a school year officially ends.

Throughout the days students and staff quickly realized that Quirrell is nowhere to be seen.

Flitwick, McGonagal and Dumbledore have gone to the Forbidden hallway on the third floor and they've quickly found Quirrell's residue there.

Until the end of year speech none of the students knew what actually happened to professor Quirrell and why he's gone missing out of nowhere.

So, as students usually do, they've made up stuff and therefore rumors have started; for example: that one vampire kidnapped him, and other nonsensical rumors.

The trio is honestly glad no one knows what actually happened; well, none of the students do atleast.

But as it turned out that can't be said for the teachers.

It happened on one sunny afternoon; the trio was sitting under the huge tree, just relaxing and quietly watching the twins, alongside their friends, Lee Jordan, feed the huge octopus in the Black Lake.

But the relaxation had ended when the trio saw McGonagal approaching.

"McGonagal? What is she doing here?"

She stopped infront of Harry, Ron and Hermione, "you three, come with me." She ordered, but she seemed like she tried not to draw too much attention to herself and the trio.

"Why?" Harry questioned first, confused.

"Just come," she repeated.

So the trio stood up and began following her.

The trio kept looking at eachother, confused, and Ron and Hermione seemed a little worried. Harry already suspected where they might be going but his best friends had no idea and are trying not to show that they're scared.

Soon they've arrived infront of a golden statue looking like a bird with its wings spread out, the principal's office.

"Candied Pheonix," McGonagal said, and the statue began to move, "come," she ordered the trio.

The trio listened and did as they were told. McGonagal told them to get onto the still moving staircase and after the three of them got onto it she did too.

Two seconds later, the staircase stopped moving and they walked up. Then McGonagal moved to the door and knocked on it.

"Come in!" Dumbledore called out.

At that, McGonagal opened the door, inside were already standing Flitwick, Sprout and Snape.

"You didn't have to knock, Minerva." Dumbledore said and then he noticed Harry, Ron and Hermione, "ah, good, you brought them here."

"..." The trio remained silent.

All of the professors in the room seem to be waiting for something.

"... why are we here?" Harry finally asked.

"Because of what you said four days ago." Dumbledore calmly explained, "you said you were sure professor Quirrell would want to steal the Philosopher's Stone - that's interesting seeing as  he's dead now. First we thought that's becuase he drank a poison, but we quickly found that, that wasn't the case. And you, as well as your friends seem to know what actually happened." Dumbledore explained and looked from Harry, to Hermione and then to Ron and back.

"..." none of them know how to explain anything from what happened.

Harry knew that it'll be the best idea if he explains.

"Well..." Harry is trying his best to act like an eleven year old right now, and he tried his best to explain in a way that wouldn't reveal that he timetraveled nor reveal his and Voldemort's connection, while also keeping his mind closed because he had a suspicion that either Dumbledore or Snape would try to access his mind via Legilimency and not say so.

"I see..." Dumbledore said after Harry was done explaining, "I see, so, you three were scared that Quirrell will steal the Stone and you tried to save it." Dumbledore summarized it.

"Yes," Harry confirmed.

"And then when you were in the elixirs protection room he noticed you and attacked you and your friends, and he died when you tried to defend yourself - correct?"

"Yes."

Everyone in the room believed him - but Snape doesn't exactly look convinced, but he remained silent.

"Okay, thank you, that's enough for now, you can go." Dumbledore said.

At that the trio left.

While they walked back outside they finally began to talk.

"Bloody hell," Ron exhaled, "I thought we were going to get in trouble."

"Same," Hermione agreed.

"They really haven't let it go, have they?"

"I guess not, but why were Sprout, Flitwick and Snape there?" Ron questioned.

"I guess that's becuase Dumbledore wanted to talk with them and try to find out what actually happened with Quirrell - seeing as they had their part in the protection of the Stone ."

"Makes sense," Ron agreed.

"But why did you tell them about You-Know-Who?" Hermione asked.

"Why wouldn't I?" Harry questioned, "Voldemort was the whole reason Quirrell even tried to steal the Stone."

"..."

"Do you think we'll get in trouble?"

"I doubt that," Harry said.

***************************

Two days have passed since the trio went to the principal's office, and right now they (as well as the rest of the school) are sitting in the Great Hall.

This years House Cup winner is Slytherin, and Gryffindor's in the second place.

Suddenly, Dumbledore stood up.

"Another year behind us," Dumbledore happily spoke, "and before we get into those tasty desserts and food, let me, bore you with my old man's speeches. This was a year I'll tell you! I hope your heads are a little fuller then they were... and you have a whole summer break to empty them before the beginning of the next year...

And now it's time to give the house cup away. The point scores are as follows: in fourth place is Ravenclaw with 333 points; on the third place is Hufflepuff with 378 points; in the second place is Gryffindor with 404 points; and in the first place is Slytherin with 502 points."

From the Slytherin table came out a loud, joyful applause and banging.

"Yes, yes, great job Slytherin," Dumbledore said, "but we have to consider what happened in the recent days. As you may have heard, proffesor Quirrell has gone missing. As me and the head of houses discovered he has mysteriously passed away."

At that, everyone in the Great Hall began to whisper to eachother.

"But," Dumbledore continued, and everyone quieted down, "we had found out that proffesor Quirrell's death was while he attempted to steal the Philosopher's Stone. Mr. Potter, alongside mr. Weasley and ms. Granger told professor McGonagal six days ago that Quirrell was trying to steal the Stone," the whole room looked at Harry, Ron and Hermione - Hermione and Ron blushed and tried to hide, but Harry just ignored everyone's stares.

"She didn't believe them at first but informed me about it." Dumbledore continued to explain, "and two days ago, we have discovered that professor Quirrell really did try to steal the Stone - but it wasn't for his own personal cause and use. As we've discovered - when we asked mr. Potter, mr. Weasley and ms. Granger - that professor Quirrell actually had Voldemort on the back of his skull and was hiding him this entire year, and wanted to steal the Stone in an attempt to help him."

At that, everyone in the room gasped and began whispering to eachother again - there also were people who looked like they didn't quite believe what the Headmaster is saying about Voldemort right now.

"And mr. Potter, mr. Weasley and ms. Granger are the reason he hasn't succeeded in getting a hold of the Philosopher's Stone." Dumbledore continued, "because of that, I decided to give 50 points each for the three of them for saving the Stone and for stopping Voldemort from regaining power once again."

Everyone - even the staff - is taken aback at the sudden points given.

"Well, if my calculations are correct, I think the decorations should be changed." Dumbledore said with a smile and clapped.

Suddenly, the whole decoration turned from green and silver to red and gold.

Suddenly, all of the Gryffindor table began to clap enthusiastically, absolutely taken aback by the sudden win.

*******

After the dinner was eaten everyone left and walked towards the train station at the Hogsmead - the small town under Hogwarts filled wuth wizards.

When Dumbledore announced the results of the tests Harry found out he did pretty well and, of course, Hermione was in the best out of all of the first years.

Of course Dumbledore has also reminded the students that it's illegal for underage wizards to do magic outside of school.

"I always hope they forget to tell us that..." Fred sighed.

Just like always, Neville lost his toad again, but luckily found her in the bathroom.

When they got out of the Hogwarts Express and out of the platform 9¾ at King's Cross, Ron turned to Harry and Hermione.

"You have to come to my house for a few days," Ron invited them, "both of you - I'll send you an owl."

"Can't wait, I've always liked it at yours," Harry thanked.

"Really?" Ron blushed.

"Of course!"

When they walked to the gate heading out of the platform everyone was bumping into eachother.

Some even called out:

"Bye, Harry!"

"Good bye, Potter!"

Ron grinned at him, "still famous,"

"Shut up," Harry mockingly told him.

Harry, Ron and Hermione got out onto the train hall together.

"Look, mom! Look, there he is!"

That was Ginny, he'll have to get used to her fangirling over him all over again -  she's currently pointing at Harry.

"Harry Potter!" She squeaked "Look mom! I can see him...!"

"Be quieter Ginny, and stop pointing fingers, it's impolite." Mrs. Weasley lectured Ginny.

And then mrs. Weasley smiled at the trio.

"So, have you had a tough year?"

"Kind of," Harry shrugged, "and, thanks for the fondanes and the pullover, mrs. Weasley."

"Oh, you're welcome sweetheart." She replied kindly.

"So, are we going?" Someone asked, sounding as if they're trying not to sound annoyed.

Harry looked who it was and, surely enough, it was uncle Vernon, behind him were standing his cousin Dudley and his aunt Petunia.

"Oh, you must be Harry's relatives!" Mrs. Weasley called out.

"Unfortunately," uncle Vernon mumbled, "come on, I don't want to be stuck here the whole day." Uncle Vernon walked away.

Before Harry walked away he spoke with his best friends for a little longer.

"See you," Harry said.

"See you Harry," Ron replied.

Suddenly Hermione hugged him and after a while stopped, "see you, hope you'll have a good summer break,"

Harry almost snorted, "thanks," thinking about it, he might have a semi-funny summer break, seeing as Dudley will probably be absolutely terrified of him now.

"Bye, Harry!" Hermione and Ron said for the last time.

"Bye, guys!" Harry replied and walked away and towards the Dursleys.

"Took you long enough." Uncle Vernon said, annoyed.

He helped Harry get his stuff into the back compartment and Hedwig in the cage in between Harry and Dudley in the backseats of his uncle's car.

And then uncle Vernon started the car and drove away.
